Lakeland is Georgias City of Murals. The downtown has buildings restored to the 1920s - 1930s, the time period of the forming of the county and the changing of the towns name from Milltown. Great natural resources abound in the county from 11,000 acre Banks Lake to the prestine Alapaha River.
